Good webcam for video conferencing

It's tiny, about the size of a 50 cent coin, but what I really like is that it has a narrow field of view, so when I'm video chatting with colleagues call, you don't see the mess in my room. The video is good enough, written in HD, but I'm glad it's not quite sharp. The mechanism holding it on top of my monitor is boring, a piece of clear tape on the back of my monitor quickly solved the problem. I can say that as of May 2021 it works perfectly on Windows 10 without drivers. Overall, this is my

No longer supported by Microsoft

This camera had lighting issues in Windows 10. Unfortunately, the latest software drivers for this camera were for Windows 7 and there seem to be some compatibility issues with Windows 10. Do not purchase this product if you are using a newer operating system despite inaccuracies in the product description. Software updates for this product have been (and probably will not be) made for current generation operating systems. At $80, it's an inexcusable lack of information on the product page.

Mediocre picture, sound constantly buzzing

Used on a PC running Windows 7. Installation was plug and play, although driver installation took a long time. (The available drivers for Windows 7 are very old and offer little to no control over camera settings.) Video quality is reasonable but not sharp, and more video noise (background noise) even with the maximum light I can provide. ) than I expected. Audio from the built-in mic has a constant buzz in the background no matter what sample rate/quality settings I try, and the mic gain…

Serious Sound Problem! If you care about how you sound, choose a different topic. I bought this Lifecam webcam from Microsoft to use with my Mac as a webcam add-on for zooming and Skype calls while I work. Amid the COVID crisis, I'm on video calls all day. Immediately after purchase, my colleague on an early call noticed a constant high-pitched tone coming from my webcam. I bought an app addon to fix the problem but to no avail. The only workaround is to ditch the built-in microphone entirely…

Don't buy this. Buy a Logitech C920 instead.

I regret the purchase As a replacement I bought a Logitech C920. I've used other "cheap" webcams, even other Microsoft cameras, which worked better than this one. Sure, it's better than the cheapest no-name webcam you can buy. But not much. In particular, this camera struggled to deal with real-world lighting conditions that other cameras had no problem with. The picture was always either too dark or too bright and washed out. The camera built into the ThinkPad T470s is much better than this…
