Our old door bumper finally became brittle and cracked one day when the wind caught the door. This stopper is not as long as the original plastic stopper, but is long enough to do what was intended. Our old stopper was installed on the plastic doorknob itself, I installed the new one in the exact same spot. Since the cork is thicker at the base, she sat a little squinted, but not enough to really be noticeable. A rubber bumper works better than a plastic bumper in the sense that it allows for some flex when the door is fully opened and hit. I once broke the window frame of the door when this happened. A pillow stop can help prevent this if it happens again. Also, I no longer have to worry about the vault door frame being dented when the plastic stopper hits it at high speed because the door flew away from me in strong winds. Came with replaceable screw, easy installation. So far, so good. highlighted.
