Product Overview - Superb Quality

I had this fondue set for a day and used it to make a cheese fondue. What I liked: - The weight of the cast iron pot helps avoid cooling and scorching - The ceramic coating prevents the pot from rusting and doesn't need to be seasoned - The burner under the pot is good enough for cheese fondue, Oase haven't had anything else yet tried. - great convenience of using the same pot to make fondue on the stove and serve fondue on the dining table - pot is large enough to easily serve 6 or more people - the included fondue forks work well. What I didn't like: - Cheese fondue *can* burn that gel pan in the burner under the pot. - The larger diameter burner under the pot can distribute the heat more evenly and avoid scorching. - The ceramic coating is not unstock. Burns will require soaking and/or a mild detergent. When using this pot for the first time, Swissmar flammable gel was not available. Instead, I used Star-O. I scooped pink Star-O fuel gel from a Star-O canister into the burner under the pot. This solution worked well - Stern-O's burn gel burned hot enough to keep the fondue hot enough to eat properly. "Tins" of Stern-O Burning Gel are available in packs of 2 or 3 at your local Safeway supermarket (Grill aisle) and your local Walmart (camping section). Money. Preparing and serving fondue in a (much cheaper) thin metal fondue pot is much more cumbersome and cumbersome than using this pot. I have used both types of fondue pots.
