Review on 🧹 Rubbermaid Microfiber Flat Spin Mopping System: Efficient Floor Care with Wringer Bucket (2104526), Red by Alexis Hughes

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Almost a very nice system - upgrade to one star after four weeks.

I'm upgrading this to one star. The all-important locking mechanism is now broken - it's almost as locked as it's unlocked, making the mop want to turn while wiping, moving the thin side back and forth instead of the wide side. It would be nice if the lock worked, but since it doesn't work I don't recommend it at all. Dripping or pouring too much water when mopping floors. In that regard, it works well. You lay the mop on one side where it folds and rub the hard plastic parts to wash the dirt off the mop. Then lay it on its round side, unlock the handle, and move the handle up and down, causing the mop to rotate. This draws water out of the mop. When you press the mop to the floor, the mop flattens again so you can mop. It's four stars and not five because the locking mechanism doesn't work that well. For the first cleaning step, pull the lockable mop handle up and down to wipe the plastic. The lock is not strong enough and the mop will try to rotate if you pull/push hard. Seems to work best when the handle is in the top position locking in place, but still not 100% great. You unlock to rotate the mop head, which works well. Almost all the water has been collected and the mop is in a good moisture condition for wiping. Then fix the squeegee again because you don't want the back and forth movement of the squeegee to cause the squeegee head to rotate. This only works well when the handle is locked in the lowest position. So wipe with the wiper when it's locked in that position and don't pull/push too hard and you'll be fine. You may need to lock the handle back in the up position when you start brushing. A small design flaw is the plastic bridge that separates the round part from the rectangular one. It is curved so that when you move the mop, drops drip down the sides onto the floor. It should curve the other way or have channels to channel water into the bucket. Once you get used to it, it's a handy and neat mechanism for mopping more efficiently. My floors dry faster and the mop looks pretty clean after scrubbing.

Pros
  • SPIN MOP: spin with handle for hands free rinsing and spinning
Cons
  • Not bad but...
