I believe the main criterion for satisfaction with a keyboard, like a mouse, is personal preference. While one reviewer may find this product objectionable, others may find it indispensable. I have no objection to any of the opinions. I particularly like the layout and size of the keys and the feel of this keyboard. So much so that I have the same thing on both of my desktops and will probably soon be ordering one or more as backups in case they are no longer available as a new product from Revain. Let me also say that I prefer a wired keyboard because I've had crashes with the MS Wireless Keyboard on the number pad where it ignored keystrokes and left out numbers. These gaps cannot be detected by a spell checker. I prepare tax returns for clients and every number matters. The control program has no error detection function when dealing with arbitrary numbers, so a dropout is an unacceptable error in control work. I didn't find any dropouts with the wired keyboard, and I also get the benefit of the Scroll Lock, Num Lock, and Cap Lock LEDs, since the wired version lacks the wireless version. The keyboard is the element that is the main interface between my mind and my computer. The less effort and attention is devoted to this means of communication, the better the communication, and the less attention is paid to the struggle with the tools to better direct attention to solving the problem. This MS 3000 keyboard is my favorite instrument and I'm pretty sure it is, which is why I paid more than usual for this keyboard and will buy another one as a spare when I wear this one out. I didn't care for the mouse. I use the MS 5000 wireless mouse with two AA batteries because I like the feel and weight, which means it doesn't slide around on my desk surface causing unwanted program clicks and pointers that I have to keep chasing. I don't use a mouse pad. I'm right-handed too, but I use a mouse with my left hand so my right hand can operate the numeric keypad. much less manual transition for me this way. So I'm not considering the mouse in this review as I don't need it and don't need it. I only bought the combo because the mouse was basically free and the keyboard was new and not used as a separate item that would otherwise be available from Revain. I have a mouse as a backup in case I need it for a while. This mouse is the wired version.
