Psst! Say, do you want to buy something super shitty?

Want to send more plastic down the waste stream, fast? Buy this cheap piece of ultra-thin, easy-to-break junk! If you have no kids, no husbands, no fights, this mug is not for you. I had one of these a few years ago and the plastic was thicker and withstood a few drops from a rack over the course of a few years. I don't know if the company decided to cheapen the plastic and make it thinner and/or more brittle and more prone to breakage/cracking, but I had this jar less than a month before the lid fell off the rack. While I was washing the base and top, it just ripped from top to bottom. And now I have Marmoleum, which takes glass and plastic drips better than the ceramic tiles I had back then. Now I use the lower part for watering potted plants. God knows what I do with all those expensive filters I bought. I recommend a metal water filter (something like a Berkey, if you're curious what I mean) if your cheap, brittle Brita needs to break. Metal ones are much more expensive, but you only have to buy one. Good, because you can fill returnable bottles instead of buying all those single plastic bottles. Depending on how much water you buy, you can get a refund after one year. No, I do not carry water filters. I'm just annoyed. And one note on top of my dissatisfaction and anger at Brita: If you live in PNW and are concerned about the great earthquake that may soon actually cut everyone west of I-5 from the rest of the country and from utilities like tap water for a month or two , a more efficient, larger water filter for stream and rain water can still be a good idea. No prepper! Just someone reading an article in the New Yorker a few years ago and only survived 10 days of deep snow that brought us no power, no cable, no wifi. No fun.
