I bought this for a friend who is paraplegic and set it up so he could switch between his work and home computer. The ability to use the keys on the keyboard allows him to switch within his limits. The first thing I found out was that the mouse's USB port wasn't accepting his wireless Kensington mouse. When I plugged it in, the cursor moved to the top of the screen, and although I tried tweaking the mouse and toggling the port on and off, it only worked with the front USB port. This eliminates the only USB port without a keyboard or mouse. Previously, DVI KVM was used with the dongle in the USB port of the mouse without problems. He upgraded the monitors so I got a new HDMI KVM. I'm disappointed that I had to buy additional hardware, a USB hub, to create an extra port for the camera, which he uses for video conferencing at work and Skype at home. Because it hurt me so much. I decided to try a high end wireless mouse from Logitech which he couldn't use and it did the same thing the cursor jumped straight to the top corner. Good news: the wireless keyboard dongle worked in the keyboard's USB port; the transition between the two systems is really good (fast); Image quality is excellent; and the mouse port worked with an old Dell hardwired mouse (the only hardwired mouse I could find).
