They are VERY sticky. It works well on smoother, shinier surfaces. It was pasted to the walls and ceiling and painted with flat paint. I had to take it off. I thought it would fall off so I left it for the night but no such luck. When I took it off the wall there were stains on the painted surface that wouldn't go away so I'd have to repaint. On semi-gloss, semi-gloss and glossy lacquered surfaces, they came off and, as expected, "walked” along the wall. As long as they're used on one of these surfaces, they work great.
