I needed a simple thermometer with high/low pressure settings. beats, it beeps (sounds like the beep of a small digital watch). It beeps for about 15 seconds and then stops. But the high setting number on the digital display keeps flashing. It will not beep again until the temperature drops (according to the high temperature you set), then the next high temperature event occurs and it will beep again for about 15 seconds. I use it to wake me up at night before I start sweating. I keep my back against my skin and close to my ear (I didn't want to have a Bluetooth device on my body all night while sitting next to my phone).
