Review on 📡 Metra 44-US07R: Versatile Top or Side Mount Rubber Antenna for Superior Reception by Robert Hardin

I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and bought this one because the old one broke. It's not always universal! The silver pins holding it in place under the hood are too long to fit in the original antenna hole, resulting in small indentations next to the large hole you see in the picture. So we had to drill a hole in the side to make it fit. (Of course, this was done after we drilled another hole right next to the original antenna position, thinking there would be more space :/.) After we installed it, the antenna worked, but it creaked a bit in wooded areas and the signal lasts maybe 30-30 seconds. 50 miles from radio source. This is a cheap antenna so don't expect great quality.
