It didn't fit so I had to drill through the body as they say. Chips in the wood when inserting the pin after drilling, very small chips, but on specially painted board it looks like crap. It's a good idea, you just need a better tip to hold the deck so you don't have to drill. Perhaps the spring will cut the steel point. I also had to trim the screws to get it closer to the wall. This setup is cheap and it works. But there are better mounts. You can do this for about $2 if you want to take the time to cut the dowel in half and drill a few holes.
