Like others here I bought this scanner, scanned my documents then came back and was blackmailed and needed a subscription to get my documents. I didn't want anything in the cloud. I just wanted a scanner that would be an all-in-one solution for the many types of scans I need to do to consolidate my documents, photos, business cards, and receipts. Outdated software no longer works. It required a cloud, which I thought was blackmail, and NOW you can't even do that. To top it off, they license their software to their competitors so you can't outrun them. It's like monopoly, bait, and substitute all rolled into one. Bad society. rip off customers. And I am now without documents that I scanned and shredded because I bought this product in good faith. You don't buy a car and a year later the car company tells you you can't drive it because they changed their business model.
