Review on πŸ§‚ Stainless Steel Kamenstein Elite Salt and Pepper Grinder Set + Free 5-Year Spice Refills by Kristi Martinez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Beware of the plastic ring

I would give this product 5 stars if the plastic ring hadn't been torn out of the center cover area of the pepper mill. I bought these from Walmart in early October and was very disappointed when I was trying to grind a pepper and the black plastic ring fell into the food. The coffee grinder cannot be used at all without this plastic ring. After losing the receipt and refusing to purchase another stainless steel option (they are expensive), I set out to find a solution. There weren't any reviews on walmart.com so I thought I'd go here. I've found that most people seem to have the same problem and blame it on dropping the shaker or the packaging. Let me tell you I've never dropped it or dropped it etc and I brought it from the store so the packaging wasn't an issue for me. After reading the reviews I took some nail glue and used two forks to force the recall. It's not an easy task and it took a few minutes but I finally got it back and it seems to be working fine now. By the way, you can still easily adjust the degree of grinding. The trick is to use a fork (with one hand) to steady one side of the ring and the other fork to steady the opposite end. It will bounce back up until you find a way to apply even pressure everywhere. Like I said it took me a few tries but I did it and it saved me at least another $30 on new ones.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised
