The level is good but there is a strange defect

I would like to give five stars. Functionally everything is fine with the thing and the laser is bright. Seems to be the right level. However, this product smells like toothpaste. He's across from me in the room and I can smell him. I need to use this thing, so I don't really plan on returning it. Maybe I'll just lay it out in the sun and hope the smell goes away? Something strange.
