Doesn't work properly on Computer & Accessories

I have a lot of floppy drives and card readers that I need to plug in when I'm working on photo and video projects. I was hoping to use this to expand my USB 3.0 ports. The part is well made and looked promising, but in practice the computer does not find the hard drives when they are connected after the system has started. You must restart for the computer to recognize the card reader. This is frustrating and not what I was hoping for or experienced when using a spare card to expand ports. Other than that, it's a well-made device that can last up to 3 years, which would be a real plus considering where it's made. Ah, I doubt it.
