Review on πŸ” Explore the Night Sky with the Zhumell Z100 Portable Altazimuth Reflector Telescope by James Broome

I like it! on reflectors

So I took a base from Revain's recommendations and paired it with an Orion 52587 VersaGo E-Series Altazimuth Mount with Tripod. I was considering buying a 100mm Orion SkyScanner tabletop reflector, but found the viewfinder and focuser placement odd and poorly thought out. They've painted themselves into a corner focused on selling their Orion StarBlast AutoTracker altazimuth mount to mount on a small add-on rather than building something interoperable for Vixen's side-mounted tripods. That being said, I wanted something with slow motion controls and the ability to walk across the field rather than prone to use the viewfinder. The collimation is accurate and the optics are sharp and accurate, really amazing for such a small scope, the only downside is the wobbly focuser! Bad material design - Arg! Don't worry, this is common on inexpensive telescopes with plastic focusers and can easily be remedied with some 100% clean Teflon tape. Eyepieces - throw. It's not Barlow. The finder scope is identical to the recently redesigned Orion EZ Finder II Telescope Reflex Sight. The scope works well with the Celestron 8-24mm zoom as well as the X-Cel LX 7 and 5mm eyepieces. Thumbs up, you could make a much worse purchase in this hobby.
