Review on Schwalbe Marathon Almotion Evo Folding Tire // 40-622 (28x1.5') V-Guard by Robert Aliraqi

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is a great fast tire.

The only thing I didn't like about the Almotion tires was that I had a hard time putting the rims on, but that doesn't mean it would be difficult to fit all the rims, just mine could be rims but I will NOT downgrade my star rating because of this, different brands of tires can do this, that is the nature of bike tires. I will be using this tire on the front of my touring bike and a more powerful Schwalbe Marathon Plus 440 on the rear. I do this all the time and it's perfectly fine. The rear tire gets punctured 99.99% of the time while the front tire rarely if ever wears out the fastest because most of the weight I carry is on the back of the bike so a heavier tire would be in the rear in combination with one lighter front tires just great. According to rolling resistance tests, Almotion tires are the fastest touring tires you can buy. Why didn't I use it on the back too? because it doesn't have the thicker, more durable profile and almost puncture-proof belt that the Marathon Plus 440 has. When I'm touring, I need a rear tire that's almost puncture-proof because I can fix a flat tire on the rear of a loaded bike pretty hard. What I didn't want was a heavier front tire and the front tire was easier to fix, so I went with Almotion. This is a very smooth tire, I didn't even get a single cut on the tread, even after rolling. recently through a field of broken glass. They also have very good wet and dry grip. I'm not sure what else to say about this as I've only had them for 2 weeks. If something bad happens I'll change my rating but I don't foresee it happening and if it's like other Schwalbe tires that have me I seriously doubt I'll come back to report an issue.
