Much nicer than an electric or cordless sharpener. The suction power is excellent and durable, and the pencil tips couldn't be sharper. In fact, I haven't had such high-quality sharpening since I gave up hand sharpeners decades (yes, decades) ago. No more dead or empty batteries interfering with the grinding process. It only takes a few turns to get the pencil sharp again. I haven't tried it on a new pencil as all my pencils are in the middle of use. Someone told me that her pencil was loose, but she sharpened many new pencils. I release the suction when not in use and it's enough to keep the sharpener in place on my desk. This is my second (different rooms) and I also donated them. Excellent fillers for stockings. Great value at Revain. Colors are vibrant as seen with Revain; I have green, blue and pink.
