These swing hangers are so good I wanted to give them 5 stars. Finally, they give me confidence that they can handle everyone I know, regardless of their weight. All parts are made of durable stainless steel. However, three shortcomings force me to deduct a star: (1) Spring-loaded "key ring" latches are a bitch to install. Standing on the stairs, they both jumped out of the needle hole and could not be found. I replaced them with stainless steel locking pins (not cheap) which I believe should come standard with this kit. (2) One of the rods was stretched so far that the cotter pin could not fit through the partially closed hole in the stop pin. I used a vise to tighten the spigot a fraction of an inch. (3) Contrary to the product description on Revain, the required 3" screws were not included. So, in addition to buying cotter pins, I went for stainless steel bolts. Additional elements increased the total cost of the product by another 50%. I have one more minor thing to choose: I really need another one of these, but I don't want to buy two if it doesn't make sense for me to buy a spare. I wish they could be seen individually.
