Well, first of all, it seems to measure TDS quite well. TDS is the total dissolved solids content. Collect EVERYTHING. Salt, minerals, fertilizers and all that. So TDS can tell you how many "things" are in your water, but not what is in your water. Battery. The battery is poorly constructed. There is a cover on the back that inserts the battery between two prongs. The 2 pins do not hold the battery securely. I have to reconfigure it, sometimes multiple times, when I need to use it. The thermometer definitely did NOT pass ANY QUALITY TEST! MY GOD! It was over 10 degrees Fahrenheit or 5C! I even left it there for more than a minute to see it. I checked with 3 other thermometers for reference. All of them were within the same grade. For any aquarium, this difference can KILL YOUR FISH! I would recommend another.
