This works with my Kitchenaid mixer that I bought from Costco. It comes with three metal cylinders that each cut, shred and grate. They fit into the gear key of the main plastic case and although they look cheap they work well. There is another cheap plastic part that looks like it will fall out during use, but it doesn't. The resulting shavings aren't the prettiest things in the world, but they work for me. My only complaint is that a significant amount of food shavings get stuck between the metal insert and the main plastic body, which can only be accessed after removing the metal insert.
