Since I signed up with SiriusXM in 2005, I've tried several radios that could be transported from a car mount to a home mount. Most of them were classic Sportsters, most recently Sportster 5s. Each of them featured a horrific whine from the alternator that went up and down depending on the amount of pressure I applied to the gas pedal. All sorts of filters, chokes, cables tried - without success. I wanted to use my car stereo's AUX input for the best quality, but couldn't get over the squeaking problem. I heard about the Commander Touch and thought at $64 it might be worth a try. I stopped taking my Sportster 5 indoors as my Sirius hearing was now all around me via various Revain Echo devices so having the Commander permanently installed was not a problem. After installing Commander Touch, the engine noise is completely gone! I made sure the 3 wires are connected to the correct places in my car's fuse box (I found the instructions very good and detailed). Gone is the digital haze I heard from my previous Sirius tuners and I would describe the sound quality as somewhere between a well-designed FM station and CD quality. I was considering buying a new car stereo with Sirius or XM built in for a few hundred bucks, but Commander Touch eliminated the need. Yes, the touchscreen isn't the most responsive in the world and I "only" have 18 presets instead of Sportsters 3 banks of 10, but I can live with that. I am very happy with the Commander Touch and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. I don't think it's been updated since it was released in 2016 or so, but I'm happy with my purchase.
