Since December 2011 I have had several 16GB sticks of the same brand and type for testing. They are twice as fast and then twice as fast compared to this 32GB version. Luckily I only bought 1 of these. 16GB sticks are the fastest of any brand of flash drive I have, this stick is the slowest. Here are the test results for both drive sizes using Zentimo software on the same computer: 2011-12-1516 GB (K:), 14.9 GB. "FAT32" File Type Read Speed Write Speed Small files (32.0 KB): 9.23 MB/s 1.41 MB/s Medium files (3.0 MB): 22.28 MB/s 10.33 MB /s Large files (100.0 MB): 23.04 MB /s 10.86 MB/s compared to this flash drive 2012-06-0932 GB (K:), 28.9 GB "FAT32" File type Reading speed Recordings Small files (32.0 KB): 6.00 MB/s 754.17 KB/s Medium files (3.0 MB): 13.59 MB/s 3.59 MB/s Large files ( 100.0 MB): 13.84 MB/s 4.16 MB/s I don't want to do a full backup to this drive every day! I won't buy any more of these until they hit a bargain price. Long-term storage wouldn't be bad with a slower drive, but not with a daily backup drive, even if it only changed the files being written.
