I had been feeding my otherwise healthy 23 month old cat this food ever since he turned a year of age. At first I was very happy with it. He ate it reliably and seemed in good condition with a super soft, fluffy coat (none of the oiliness you often see with low quality foods). But two weeks ago, I came home from work to find him straining to urinate and licking his genitals. I rushed him to the vet to find that he had struvite crystals and urinary tract obstruction. Lots of sleepless nights and many hundreds of dollars later, he seems to be getting better, but we're not out of the woods yet. I emailed Royal Canin about my concerns and was basically told it wasn't their fault. Now I'm stuck buying their prescription Urinary SO diet to correct the problems this food caused.
