1. When the unit arrived the long rubber seal was removed from its seat.2. Just clip it back into the cap where it came from.3. Make sure it is securely fastened. Helpful Tip: 4. Make sure the edge of the bag is in the vacuum zone. If the vacuum does not work after pressing the vacuum button and sealing, PRESS STOP.5. Make sure the bag fits evenly around the edge and is in the vacuum seal area. Try again. This device works fine. The instructions may be unclear, but they are intuitive. (You can understand that.) I use this to store food for a long time and it does exactly what I need it to. The price is really good.
