Feeding made easy

When we first switched to solids, I fed my son with a spoon from a bowl and he did great. But I did have a few reusable bags and screw-in spoons for when we weren't home. Well the first and only time I tried spoons was a nightmare. They were too deep and because the food was coming out of the base he couldn't reach it. I had to remove the spoon and feed him straight from the pouch all the while worrying about his gums (no teeth but he likes to bite). Then he got sick and we had to give up solid food, so I'll start looking for a better spoon when we get back. I found her and I'm in love. They are easy to use, wash and protect my son's gums and face from sharp plastic. The only thing is the base, it seems to me that it's too small. My son breastfeeds and loves Avent pacifiers and fits them just the same. Because the base is smaller, he partially holds it in his mouth when trying to "snatch". I would appreciate if they made them with a larger base for young children. I know he will eventually learn to suck like a straw, but for now this is causing some confusion. ) As handy as they are, I don't like carrying around a bag to store a dirty topper when my son is done with it. A small suitcase is a big help. However, if you use a reusable pouch, you can just zip it in once it's empty. The price is also quite steep. I see them being thrown around accidentally and $2.50 each is a lot.
