Don't Waste Your Money

We decided to renovate the picnic area at our restaurant this year and wanted to move to a sun shade setup. It seemed like we were breaking at least 2 umbrellas a year even if we purchased quality umbrellas. So we installed a 36x12 concrete pad and ordered everything to put up a nice sun shade seating area. One of the components we purchased were these 112” poles. As you can see in pictures I attached, they didn’t last. They were installed at the beginning of June which means they didn’t even…

Pros
  • If you want to shorten the length of the wire and create tension just pull the wire in one direction and with the wire lock it wont loose. If you want to loosen the wire toward the opposite way, just insert the key to the lock;
Cons
  • May require professional installation for optimal results

It's bigger and heavier than I thought

So this is actually a great sail post. It's very solid, and there are two main pipes, a coupler, and a base. The most difficult part about installing was my inexperience with concrete. I ended up going about 3.5 deep and using a concrete form, then installing the concrete bolts after it had cured for a few days. So far it's help up well to several thunderstorms and some fairly high winds with no issue. I plan to unscrew it from the base and stow it away when it hits fall/winter.

Pros
  • Patio, Lawn & Garden
Cons
  • Expensive compared to other options

Sun sail worthy! on my review.

These poles work great for sun sails. It took me some time to plan out this project but after I had the plan in place these where super easy to install. That is if you have a hammer drill and a 1/2” concrete bit. I did not like the anchor bolts it came with so I bought some wedge anchors at Lowe’s. I also bought some cinder block pier to anchor the plate to then I just poured quikrete around it. This turned out better than I expected.

Pros
  • Good product easy to assemble
Cons
  • Not suitable for high wind areas

Product Failure in my review

I thought that I would really like this product. I was putting a 12'x20' Sun Sail over my swimspa. Two sides were attached to the house and the other two were supported by these poles. I purchased two of them. Put concrete in the ground with the support bolts in the wet concrete, to holed the plate in position. Everything was working great until we had a strong wind and it literally broke to pole off at the base. It was still under warranty so I call the company and they very quickly sent a new

Pros
  • Very sturdy great product!!!
Cons
  • Can be easily damaged during installation

disappointed on my review.

Very disappointed with this product. Exactly the same opinion as the other one star reviewers. Our pole is rusting and it's only been out in the elements for a month. It comes in three parts - all with very weak threading to twist together. It has bent and comes apart in wind and we followed directions as given. So true to other reviews that we stick the work of digging and cementing only to have it bend and now we have a chunk of unusable cement to deal with on top of it.We loved the buckles…

Pros
  • Umbrellas & Shade
Cons
  • Can attract insects and other pests

Are the 5 star ratings all fake?

So we purchased the post, spray painted it to match our outdoor furniture, dug a hole nearly 4 feet deep by 12 inches wide, concreted, did everything in preparation for the post. The post came delivered without some pieces (i.e. washers). We contacted the company by email and they sent us the washers. We put the post in place. Hung the shade sail, barely had it tensioned, and it appeared to bend almost immediately. The next morning there was a light gust of wind and the post REALLY bent…

Pros
  • It is also incredibly affordable, which means that you can get all the benefits of a shade sail without breaking the bank
Cons
  • Can create a claustrophobic feeling

DON’T BUY! These FAILED AT THE SEAMS!

The poles did not hold up. The first heavy winds and they came apart at the seams. They also didn’t send the correct hardware with the poles or the tops. Poorly threaded. I could go on… I bought several of these because they looked like decent quality. When they failed I called ebay (several times) and ebay referred me to the manufacturer. ebay wanted me to send the poles back but they’re in concrete. I paid someone to install and have to pay again to have them removed. It was difficult to get…

Pros
  • Patio Furniture & Accessories
Cons
  • Can make the area underneath the sail overly hot

Dangerous! for my opinion

After spending the time and money to hire someone to install the cement base the pole unattached itself from the threaded base last week. And it was only a slightly breezy week. The support cables was installed as instructed and the pole was attached to 1 corner of a 10x20 sun shade so luckily the support cable prevented the pole from crashing down. Inadequate threading (too short and too fine) means the pole will just detach from the base in windy conditions- very dangerous!

Pros
  • The Triangle Shade Sail Installation Set is incredibly easy to use, meaning that anyone can install it without any trouble at all
Cons
  • Can discolor over time

Weak connection points.

The points where the poles screw together are weak at best. The threads easily slip. I bought new ones thinking it was just a faulty pole and couldn’t return them. Same problem on new poles. Don’t recommend purchasing them.

Pros
  • This set is also incredibly versatile, meaning that you can use it to install a variety of different shade sails, regardless of their size or shape
Cons
  • Not suitable for use with children or pets

Bad experience best in my review

Wasn't threaded far enough. 1st string wind and it actually snapped the pole. Never ordering from here again Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Great product ! Works as expected. Very easy to install.
Cons
  • It broke screwing It into ground. I think it’s plastic will be returning

Good for what I need.

This thing is heavy. I'm not using it standalone, so I can't comment on the sturdiness. I have it guyed down against the pull of the shade sail and it's more than adequate. Just have to secure the base so it doesn't move.

Pros
  • The Triangle Shade Sail Installation Set is perfect for use in a variety of different outdoor environments, including gardens, patios, and even at the beach
Cons
  • Can be difficult to adjust for different sun angles

Revainrating 3 out of 5

it'll probably be fine

the threads that screw into each other are too short which is a little suspect. also the base does not have gussets to minimize flexing under strong lateral load. It made it through its first NY spring and summer though

Pros
  • Easy to instsll
Cons
  • Difficult to install

Worst quality and wrong description

We bought 3 post pole kits 2 weeks ago. Please refer to the pictures to find the conditions of the poles today, this is unacceptable more to say that its it is possible for us to return them because of the weight. We request and immediate credit for the this purchase.

Pros
  • Hardware kit includes: 6 feet wire x3 (3/19 inch), one way wire lock x3, wire lock key x1, shackle x3, snap hook x3, pad eye x3, screw x12.
Cons
  • Can be easily blown away in a storm

No mounting base plate and no way to order one

Why in the world would they sell a shade sail without the mounting base plate? And when I tried to order one, they don’t offer the base plate. Waste of money and waste of my time.

Pros
  • Windscreen4less
Cons
  • Not easy to uninstall once set up

Unsafe product and hard to believe ebay carries on website

Don’t waste your money. Held shade sale for 24 hours and the pipe separated and fell on the ground. Spent hours digging hole and installing with concrete. Thankfully the sail didn’t come down on top of many kids I had in the pool during party.

Pros
  • Very impressed with this product.
Cons
  • The couplings are already rusty after about 2 months weather exposure. Super overpriced for what it is.

Incomplete Hardware in Order!

These are exactly what I would need if they came with the hardware shown in the description and photo. I orders 2 but only received (1) bolt without a nut and 4 out of 6 D-Rings. I have to buy (2) more to complete the order. What a waste of time and money.

Pros
  • This hardware kit was designed to create tension between the corner of the shade sail and the anchor point;
Cons
  • Difficult to maintain

Great DIY sail shade kit pole kit with some extras needed

This product was exactly what I was looking for in one DIY kit. Color options for poles not great, so will likely look to paint. Also some additional hardware needed for my sail shade setup, which they sell but the cost for this kit starts to add up. Overall pleased though.

Pros
  • Excellent design! These made installing my sun sail super easy.
Cons
  • good item just too big for what I needed

No base included and no infos about getting one

ok product, but the lack of the mounting base makes it a bit useless.the seller does not even provide a source for it. would not buy again as finding a base makes this more expensive than it should be

Pros
  • Designed for triangle shade sail installation;
Cons
  • Takes up a lot of space

Rusts, bends and breaks

I installed this product in a concrete surface. After attaching the shade, the pole broke, rusted and bent. Very bad quality.

Pros
  • Sturdy and durable. Very easy to assemble.
Cons
  • The coupling failed when I tried to tighten the screen

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Fail, threads stripped in light wind

Two days after installation the pole came down in a light breeze. The pole separated at the lower most joint. The threads are not deep enough to carry the wind load and they strip out allowing the higher segments to lift completely off the base. Other joints showed signs of similar stress. I am very fortunate that the hammock underneath was unoccupied or someone could have been injured.

Pros
  • 2.44 pounds
Cons
  • Not suitable for use during heavy rainfall
