I used to have a dresser by the window and my cat would hang out on it to go sightseeing. But as I pushed the dresser aside, I realized I had to buy catfish. This product is an absolute winner. Really well done IMHO. The mesh rug is very durable and the added flannel is a bonus. I love that the flannel can be tied to keep it from moving. The frame, while plastic, is light (doesn't add weight) but is strong, and the suction cups and wires are also very strong. It only collapsed once BUT it was my fault - I didn't wipe the window to clean it. But when I did I saw the window where I had attached the suction cups and it has never come down since. Remember to wet either the window or the suction cups themselves before attaching. Make sure no air gets into the suction cups and they stay.
