Review on ☕ Stanley Heritage All-In-One Boil + Brewer French Press: Versatile BPA Free Coffee Press 48oz for Coffee, Tea & Soup by Travis Filippi

A fundamental disadvantage.

I love coffee and try different ways of brewing, but haven't used a french press in a long time. this one looked interesting. My very first impression was - my goodness, it wasn't well packaged at all. This is a french press with no packaging, no box nothing, just a french press in a shipping box with whatever else you have in your order. It has a small paper strip on the outside that tells about its properties and inside the French Press there is a small paper brochure, but otherwise there is no packaging. I was a little worried that it might get damaged or scratched in transit. Even just a plastic bag around it helps. In the French press, I noticed a few scratches on the bottom where the butt sat. Bad first impression. The main downside, as far as I can tell, is the lid. So it's a vacuum container - great. I love vacuum containers, they keep food hot/cold for a long time. But a cap with a butt in it. It's about 1 inch thick and double walled with a hole drilled through the center for the plunger to pass through. So the inside of the lid is basically hollow with a hole in the middle and cannot be cleaned. I just imagine how soapy water gets there for washing dishes, condensate from the coffee brew, coffee water, who knows what will collect in there. maybe mold? Who knows! It cannot be cleaned. I could be wrong too, but - it scares me - so much so that I don't want to use it. Another interesting observation. the product name on amazon says "all in one, cooking + brewing". The product itself says not to boil water in it. So how is everything in 1? All in 2 and you get a half. I wasn't planning on boiling water here but found it odd that it sounds like you can but the product itself says you can't. Coffee is excellent, good, rich, fragrant. Lots of sediment when brewing coarse coffee (setting 28 on the baratza encore grinder). I wish it was a little cleaner, can't tell if it's the piston or something else. All in all it's a nice product, but for me it doesn't correspond to reality.
