Soon to be broken

was damaged First off, this is a great waffle maker. I've had the same model house for years, and I decided that instead of lugging mine back and forth to my elderly mom's house for Waffle Sundays, I would buy one and leave it at home. I make a batch of waffles (3-4 waffles) once a week. That amount is not what I consider overuse. After just a few months (approx. 5-6 months) the waffle iron started to "shake". It wasn't stable when opened to put the dough on it. Sometimes it was not fixed in a vertical position and rotated when open. Not only messy, but DANGEROUS because your first instinct is to reach for it. This rarely happened - maybe once in the 4th waffle. At first I thought I was just sleeping or in a hurry. But then it became every other time and now every time I try to lay the dough. Another problem is the non-stick surface. Everything was fine at first, but then the waffles started separating as they stuck together (top half stays up, bottom half still down). My husband will still eat them but they are ugly and difficult to extract from the manufacturer. As I was having these issues just before the 6 mo. warranty, unfortunately I did not contact the company before it expired. So if you buy this and notice something, don't assume user error looked like me and contact them immediately. Another thing to mention is the pacing. I chose the darkest/crunkiest waffles but when the display said "done" the waffles weren't crispy at all, bland so I had to wait for the light but then left them in the coffee maker hoping for the extra time would make them crispy. high. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not.

Pros
  • Durable finish
