Review on ๐Ÿงถ Mastering Entrelac: The Ultimate Guide to Interlace Knitting Mastery by Heather Shaw

Instructions backwards

I have two main complaints about this book. When she describes how to create the initial triangles, she first shows them slanted to the right, and on every website I've found the triangles in the first row are slanted to the left. This doesn't seem like such a big deal until you get to my second problem. I felt this book was really lacking in details like how to cast on, how to finish the last triangle in a row. These are details that can cause a lot of headaches trying to figure it all out, and will inevitably learn the hard way how not to do it. When I couldn't figure out some of these things I turned to the internet and discovered that I knit my Entrelak backwards compared to most I've found. I prefer a reference book - something I can have on the table in front of me while I study, something I can look to for inspiration. In any case, there are many beautiful photos and project ideas in this book, which is why I give it three stars. However, I don't think it's the best guide for details on how to perform entrelac knitting techniques.
