I bought this trash can because the family I nanny for bought one and I fell in love with it. We have one of those trash cans that you had to push the lid in to put trash in, but found we just left the top off because most stuff was too messy to do that with. We also have a toddler, a large dog, and a cat who all like to patrol the trash for goodies so this one is perfect. No mess unless your dumping something liquify and even then it’s just splash residue on the inside rim which you can easily wipe down. And the bag doesn’t fall down. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve yelled at my husband for piling trash on when the bag has obviously fallen down but this one has a piece that holds the bag down even if you lift up the automated top. I had this on my wishlist for almost a year but wish I would have just bought it when I first saw it. Yeah, it’s a little more than a regular plastic trash can but the convenience and also the functionality is totally worth it.
