Review on Spikeball Outdoor Game Set with Drawstring Bag by James Mcphearson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nothing but a net for a sports and games room lounge

The net is perhaps the worst thing about a cleated ball. This is a cheap net, I've even had a couple spots where it was literally hanging by a thread right out of the box. It's also oddly uneven, so even following the installation video that said the tension should be the same at all corners, I couldn't make it without hanging on the inside of the mesh in a few spots. The video specifically says to only hook the outer part of the net, but the net itself is not a circle. Setting it up so that the ball actually bounces off the net requires trial and error, not a simple trap. Once you've got the grid set up the way you like it, better leave it there, although it's meant to be something you can pack up and put away or take with you. Even if you leave the mesh attached, I doubt it will take long for any of these strands to unravel like mine did before I could even attach the mesh for the first time. If I get the Pro version, maybe the network will be better, I'll take a closer look.

Pros
  • EASY TO LEARN FOR INSTANT FUN - Experienced backyard players and novices alike can quickly learn spikeball as it is easy to learn but difficult to master. Just like in volleyball, teams switch possession and try to knock the ball away from each other! Including rule book!
