Review on LSI MegaRAID 9260-8i 8-Port SAS RAID Controller by Michael Tegan

I'm using this for a home lab in a medium ATX tower. No problems with motherboard detection. I use it in a PCI Express X16 slot. I use mini SAS to SATA cables for cables and they work great. The web bios is easy to use. Ubuntu had no problem recognizing arrays. This controller works HOT! You have to be prepared for this before you buy. I solved the problem in my system by zipping an old AMD cooler to the heatsink. I also replaced the thermal paste that was on it, it was all peeling off. This card absolutely needs to be refrigerated.
