Yes, there is a lot to say about batteries. There are several types out there. This 9 volt cell is Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) chemistry. We use this cell for our wireless PA microphones (both professional Shure transmitters). NiMH chemistry gives us the following advantages: (1) no gradual loss of power - the battery will deliver almost full current until it is discharged; (2) Delivers this power for a relatively long period of time - we can easily power the device for 90 minutes; (3) No "memory effect" when charging - we simply insert the cell into the charger at any charge level without worrying about reducing battery life. We use this charger: Rayovac Universal Charger for AA, AAA, C, D and 9V batteries. I fully recommend this item, especially with the 3 pack that Revain offers it in.
