So I could take it to the extreme by driving through Pacheco Pass with strong gust warnings, but make sure you pull the net really tight. When I stopped after a series of strong gusts of wind, to my dismay my load had almost entirely fallen out of the basket and was held precariously, as if in a net sack, just yards from sliding off the back of my Outback. Fasten the grid not only behind the thick side rails, but also under the basket very tightly. Next time I'll probably just use strings. Used with Thule Canyon XL
