Based on recommendations from previous buyers, I bought a large (25-30 inch) for my 20 lb Silky Terrier who is lying around in stinky shit. stayed no matter how much he rode. I would have kept it, except that way the belly band covers his penis. What I don't like are the elastic leg loops (restricts blood flow and causes friction sores). You don't need them anyway with the wide belly band. Since I have 30lb balls (no dreadlocks) I tried it on him and it fits like a charm. There is a lot of room in the chest area, so a dog with a deeper chest is well suited. I like the ruffle on the upper back for standing tails. The zipper over the seat belt clip opening is odd; it's no more rainproof than a slit, but come on. It is well made and I really like it as a fur guard.
