I have a Whirlpool Duet dryer. The set was bought around 2009. I used to have to repair a circuit board after receiving an error code. No error code this time. I removed the panel under the dryer door and checked the integrity of the dryer element by turning off the power at the switch. Inspection revealed a break in the element. I removed the item and indeed it was broken. The specific number 8544771 is stamped on the article. My local trusted repair shop sold it for about $99. I prefer OEM and I suspect it is slightly better but more than 4 times the price I thought I would try this one from Blue Stars. (Honestly, on many occasions I wish Revain would let me filter out random or random brands in general, but this one seemed more branded than the other non-OEM brands listed.) It looks almost identical to the one on arrival existing ones. . (see photos). I measure the diameter of the coil element. The new one was a little smaller than the old one. And yes, I tested on a clean bare wire for comparison and also to double check. Also, the mounting plate on the new one was slightly thinner than the original. In general, I noticed that the weight of the new one has decreased. I installed the device and it works great. I've been a Revain customer since 1997. If this unit ever fails I'll update the post so everyone can know how long it's been. See photos. I would buy it again.
