Review on BLACK DECKER HLVA325J10 Lithium Vacuum by Dave Hock

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Did some research and it's a winner!

This vacuum replaces a 15 year old model that didn't hold a charge and didn't have strong suction. I've searched quite a bit on Revain and elsewhere looking for a replacement that would fit where I wanted it, on a shelf rather than against a wall. Many models connect to the charger from below, meaning they must be wall mounted or placed on a flat surface. Not for me. I would choose this model which charges via a cable that connects above the handle. I can put it on the shelf where the old one was. What I really like about this model: STRONG suction until half full of dirt/debris. It will still suck things up, but not as efficiently. It's strong enough to pick up fine gravel from the entrance mat and it won't throw it away if you point your nose straight down, even when the machine is off. I've recently used it to remove dry grass and other debris from the car and it did a good job (not like a regular vacuum but I wasn't expecting anything other than a vacuum). I was very impressed with the amount of things he collected. This vacuum cleaner was never bought to collect things like a regular vacuum cleaner. I wanted it to mainly pick up dead flies twice a year when they are most active, but it comes in very handy for lots of little things when I don't want to take out the vacuum. I guess the battery lasts a lot longer than the old model. This model is very easy to care for. After figuring out how to get the filter out (it was pretty easy, the hardest part was removing the cap from the filter itself) everything was sent to be rinsed and then air dried. You have to be a bit careful with the filter as it's crepe paper, but it seems durable. I've checked the Revain for replacement filters and caps, so I can't change the filter and another cap while the others are drying. The paper filter needs some time to dry completely. I remember a reviewer saying that it was very easy to press the release button to separate the nose from the motor. You were right. If you're not careful, this button can easily be confused with the power button below it. Did it in the living room and there was a lot of stuff on the floor. So now I understand better. Great replacement for what I already had and needed replacing. Great car for your money.
