After doing a lot of research on stainless steel hoods I decided I couldn't find anything better than this Cosmo at this price point. And I'm happy with my choice. Let's face it - you can get a very quiet fan if you're willing to shell out $500 to $1000 for a range hood. I knew I wasn't in the luxury goods market! So I bought this Cosmo - it performs brilliantly and exceeded my expectations on all fronts. What really drew me in was the rounded corner design and the lack of seams to sand down. That's a big plus - no square beveled corners anywhere on the base of the device. We didn't need an extension as we installed it under the ceiling and it was a very easy install. Filters can be removed with one hand and are easy to clean. The device is not quiet, but not too loud either! At 760 CFM, it removes kitchen smoke and odors very effectively. It has two LED lights on the front of the unit, and even when mounted at a height of 36 inches, you won't get any glare in front of the stove. There are three power levels that can be set to turn off automatically, which is great if you need to keep it on for a while after cooking. Very clean and efficient in this price range. I've had many compliments on the unit - we removed the useless cupboard above the stove and replaced the flat unit with this one and I'm very happy with the look!
