Review on StarTech.com 2 Port Dual Monitor DisplayPort KVM Switch with USB 2.0 Hub, Audio, and Microphone - Black (SV231DPDDUA) by Chris Ostby

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I have a MAC and a PC and the KVM I was using sucked so much I thought it would be easier for me.

I have been using KVM switches for personal and professional use for almost 20 years and they are essential for my daily tasks. As technology advances, differences between device manufacturers make it increasingly difficult for me to find solutions that just work. I have a MAC and a PC, and the KVM I was using was so hot junk I figured it would be easier for me to switch back and forth by just moving the cables each time. After doing this in front of a customer, I decided to try again - I bought 3 switches and tested them all. This switch is a winner. I can quickly switch between my Mac and PC USB ports without having to plug, unplug, and plug them back in, and the video is crystal clear with no weird artifacts. I wish more of my friends knew what a KVM switch is so I can brag about this box. The only thing that bothers me is that when I switch to my computer, my MAC thinks it only has one display. but when I switch back it automatically remembers where the windows go and fixes itself - same goes for my PC. I like it. This is the best KVM I've had since my original PS/2/VGA box.

Pros

Cons
