The sensor, which is attached to the handle, is submerged in water. The transmitter is waterproof, but the display unit is not. The depth indicator turns off automatically after 5 minutes. Water depth is measured in meters and feet. The device's screen has a green LED that lights up when the device is on. The maximum depth range of the sonar is 328 feet and the minimum range is 2.30 feet. The beam angle is 45 degrees. The sensor is attached to a 25 foot cable. This portable fish finder comes with a lanyard and a user manual for your fish finder. It can be used in lakes, ponds, deep sea and even ice fishing at -20 degrees below or above.
