Perfect for what I need

I only use it on my kayak to check depth, seems pretty accurate. Lost a star because it resets when you turn it off, but converting meters to feet isn't that hard. Update, they sent me a new one that now saves settings on power off. So it works great for what I need it for!

Perfect gift for cars and car electronics

I got this as a Valentine's Day gift for my boyfriend who is an avid fisherman. It's great, works great and he loves it! He drills 300 holes (actually no more than 12), "finds" them all and sets the tips accordingly. Definitely helps cut down on the days we're locked out at the lake while we check out the holes, we know we're going to be pushing something through the ice!

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Quick start guide

It didn't work right away and the front panel wasn't attached

I am writing this from you to express my dissatisfaction with this product. I bought the fish finder on a 3 year protection plan and when I unpacked the fish finder the front panel was not even attached and I also tried two sets of new batteries. and I can't even get it to stay on the battery, it seems very loose at the back, would love feedback from seller

Works like the big boys.

For less than $40 this is a great find. I have used it for bank, ice, kayak and boat fishing. No fancy features but it finds depth and fish as well as my brother's Garmin striker. He's also easier to place than an attacker. I use rechargeable AAA batteries, which last a few days on the go before needing to be recharged. With batteries and charger, I still spent less than $60 for a great viewfinder. The two features I would like to have are: 1. The ability to see the depth of your lure. 2, I…

Doesn't work above 45ft

I bought this hoping to use it to check depth when fishing for lake trout. The trout in my Maine lake are 50 to 65 feet deep in the middle of summer. The sonar only works up to 45 feet and then stops working. The description says it works above 300 feet, but I couldn't get it to work past 45. Under 45 it seemed to be accurate and spot fish. It would be nice if you could fish at that depth but it doesn't suit my needs and will be returned. UPDATE: GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! They refunded my money…

EDIT: They deliver a new

EDIT: The supplier contacted me to discuss issues and found that what I received was faulty. Another is on the way. Although I had no luck with the first device I received, I have no complaints about the customer service. Original post: I didn't have high hopes, so I wasn't too disappointed when it didn't work out. I was about to install it on a boat and figured it would be best to try first. I walked to a certain depth in a crystal clear lake and it seemed close enough, 22 feet in about 20. I…

Simple but very useful

Don't do like me and enthusiastically throw it into the pond. The cable is not as long as I find. I gave up everything. Luckily I tried it first in a nearby pond and not in sea water. I put it next to a small room dehumidifier for a few hours, then rejuvenated with silica gel in an oven on a baking sheet at 175 degrees. I turned off the light, broke open the door, and placed the electronics on top of the silica gel. Helped and works perfectly. So how it works! You obviously know the basics. The

Great little sonar!

Ventior Portable Fishfinder, fishfinder with wired sonar transducer and LCD display Ventior Portable Fishfinder works great! This unit was bought for my daughter's boyfriend for Christmas. This device is very accurate and he has caught many fish with it. This little yellow sonar shows you the water depth where fish, weeds, sand, rocks and seaweed can be found. Simply pick up the sensor float and throw it into the water. The side view adapter attaches to the hull of the boat and comes with…
