Not bad scratching posts. There are three in the box and these are your main pads. When I opened them, I noticed a smell I had never encountered before. It dissolves pretty quickly and the cats are still alive, so it's probably just packaging. There is no catnip in the kit like most, but I have my own. I have to take out the scratching posts and use them from the box because my cats tear up the outside of the packaging box with all the stamps that come in a pile. Sigh. But they're comparable to most scratching posts you can buy and last about the same amount of time depending on how many cats you have and how often they use them.
