I'm usually skeptical about such products. There was another product with the same good reviews and it turned out to be useless. But it really worked. My mystery snails are cute, adorable little hard workers (and to be honest, they're in my top 3 aquarium pets right now). I love feeding them when they are on the surface and watching them walk across the glass. They were fine, but I wanted them to be happy too. The day after I put one of them in the tank, the little bugs seemed to perk up. I wasn't expecting it but they started to move around a lot more and even started playing with each other (possibly mating). As for water purification, I think it helps some. I keep my aquariums relatively clean, so I can't say for sure if he cleaned the water. But it makes my snails happy, so I'll definitely keep buying them as a calcium supplement as long as they're affordable. They last a long time, depending on the size of the aquarium and the water changes. I put in new ones as soon as the old ones are the size of a pea.
