We bought this for star gazing in our new home in Arizona. However, it has been in the packaging since receipt. Yesterday we saw something strange in the sky that we knew was neither an airplane nor a star. I took it out of the box and, without looking at the instructions, had the object in the telescope lens in less than a minute. I was even able to photograph it by bringing the camera closer to the lens. It turned out to be a wayward weather balloon. My visiting granddaughters saw something special. If it weren't so easy and quick to set up, we would have missed it. This is an entry-level telescope that allows us elderly people to easily see up close what we have been looking at for so many years. We had a fantastic night and my granddaughters have spent the last two nights visiting us and looking up at the stars they cannot see in Chicago's overcast skies.
