Good quality, minor flaws

In general, for the price, the coat is mostly satisfactory. There are others for a lower price but this quality was good and there are a few positives that set it apart from others I've tried. The pockets are large and the button closures make it easy to use with gloves. The zip flap, a nice addition for warmth, also snaps into place. (Many inexpensive styles don't have zips or use awkward buttons all over them—looks nice but impractical with gloves on.) This coat is heavily padded and therefore heavier. And yes, as others have pointed out, the hood is definitely big, but it's also more comfortable when wearing a hat, so not bad. Finally, the size M ordered fits well (6ft), the sleeves are long enough for the knit cuff to be on the wrist and not the forearm. It was loose at the bust and waist for layering and has a drawcord on the inside for a tie closure. If you're looking in the $100-$130 range, I'd say this coat has enough value to justify it over $70-$99. ; they aren't bad either, but they seem to be missing some details. However, this coat that I received still had the detachable faux fur trim dangling from one end. It is foldable and has an elastic loop for button attachment. A "problematic" loop seemed stretched and wouldn't stay in place. The tucked-in fur has a hard underside that wanted to unbutton, which made it easy to untie the loop. Another problem is the left zipper (on a man's coat!). I'm not fussy about manoeuvrability, but it takes concentration to unzip that zip - after all, I couldn't take it. For a higher price, small details become more important. I decided to return it. The return in nearby Kola went smoothly.

Pros
  • Zipper
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
