My 5 year old loves this bike. He's held up pretty well in recent months despite facing bullying. I converted it to a balance bike by removing the pedals and chain. This required some basic tools, plus a bike chain tool I bought from Revain for about $7. That was great. On a gentle hill he will surely fly away confidently. I plan to start pedaling soon, if only so he has brakes and not his shoes. At first the bike seemed heavy and bulky. I was afraid it would be too much, but he hesitated. It's significantly heavier than his old 12-inch Strider wheel. However, he quickly got used to it and now constantly asks to ride a bike. Montage wasn't too bad, but I like collecting stuff. The instructions were clear.
