This is exactly the original bracket and shell that came with the GPS unit. That's a few dollars cheaper than buying directly from Garmin. Being original, it has the same problems as a suction cup, which cannot tolerate high humidity and/or high temperatures. It is recommended not to leave it in the window when not in use, in hot/humid climates or on long journeys, and to check from time to time that the connection (to the window) is still secure. The attachment to the GPS itself is excellent and does not cause any problems. Also, despite being dropped out of a window several times, the mount and suction cup have never been damaged.
