Review on πŸ¦‹ EK Success Paper Shapers Medium Punch: Elegant Butterfly Design by Doris Tran

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This is a mixed review.

The impact results are stunning. It is a beautiful and versatile hole punch that can be used for postcards, scrapbooks, etc. I really like its design. Too bad it's so hard to use successfully. The problem is the usability. It's VERY hard to hit. You need to place the punch on the table and press very hard to completely punch out the image and detach it from the paper completely. Any small pieces in the sheet will get stuck in the punch and you should try to get them out with a pin or something else so that they don't fall into the punch or clog the punch for the next try. However, after all this effort, the chances of getting a usable die-cut shape are 50/50. The rest of the time the perimeter of the slab is not cut through. I know it's not just this punch that is defective, the problem has something to do with the design/quality of the punch. I bought one from another E-Bay seller and had to send it back. This one was even worse than this one. There was a feeling that something was blocking the shock part. This seller had another one in stock, I asked her to test it before sending it to me and she told me it must be from the same batch because the same thing happened. I then ordered these from Revain. Not that bad, but still the strongest punch I've ever used. I don't expect it to last long knowing the plastic thing will give it the pressure it needs, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts. If you (like me) want one - despite the flaws - get it soon because (I think) the manufacturer has discontinued it (I'm not surprised) and there are very few left on the internet. (I know. Checked. 90% say "out of stock").
